I was talking with Craig Coleman, the trail boss with the Mesquite Trail Riders, and they are coming into town Feb. 3rd and staying at the Aerodrome. They will be coming into downtown on Feb 5th and I'd like to have a little Cowboy Breakfast for them sponsored by the City of Kingsbury.
There will be about 30-40 riders and 5-6 wagons. I was thinking of getting breakfast tacos from somewhere and having coffee and OJ. The riders would get first pass at breakfast and then hand out the rest to anyone else that wants breakfast.
We could put it out there on FB/newsletter/flyers and have an opportunity for the community to come out and see the riders.
What do you think?

re: Mesquite Trail Riders, a little Cowboy Breakfast.
i'm thinking that promoting, informing, etc. to the Kingsbury community would be great. Maybe a Facebook "Live" when they are coming through, for people who can't come out or if the weather is a bit chilly or wet ?
i wonder about the food etc. though. wouldn't they have all just had breakfast before breaking camp at the Aerodome?

I asked about them already having breakfast and Craig said that they will wait on breakfast until they get to Downtown if we want to have the breakfast here. Last year they stopped at Lola's.

I double-checked with Craig Coleman on the dates because what he told me (and I wrote down in front of him) in the store didn't match what they had done in previous years which was leave Kingsbury on a Monday.
I'm glad I checked because they are leaving Kingsbury on Monday, February 6th (not Sunday the 5th) and will be in Downtown shortly after.
They can ride out at about 9:00 am on that Monday and be in Downtown about 9:30.
I'll pick up tacos (probably check with Taco Cabana), make an urn full of coffee, and have OJ and waters on ice. Bread and cheese would be fun!
I have plenty of napkins from the Nat'l Night Out. We won't need plates or utensils I don't think. I'll see about having coffee cups with lids, sugar, creamer (probably powder), and stirrers.
We can set up tables in an assembly line on the porch.
Can y'all think of anything else?
